MELLOR’S NEXT GENERATION!

On Sunday 29th September, Mellor Golf Club saw the return of ‘Captain’s Day to the Juniors!’

The day consisted of an 18 hole competition for juniors with a handicap, which was won by Lucca Jones, a ‘Golf Sixes’ competition for juniors without a handicap, which was won by Freddie McGrath & Daniel Simmons, and chipping & putting competitions for the younger juniors – won by Louis, Dougie & George.

Our Junior section has really thrived this year, and in 2024 we have welcomed a FANTASTIC 27 NEW Junior members, meaning we have an absolutely brilliant Junior section of future golfing stars of 43 Juniors!

This is thanks to the Junior coaching & Junior Summer Camps ran by Hannah, Get into Golf Rookies & Girls Golf Rocks ran by Hannah & Gary, both with the help of John & Carys, and of course our fantastic Junior Organiser John who organises the Derbyshire & Cheshire matches, Junior club comps, and spends his Sundays at the club playing a round of golf with the Juniors wanting to obtain a handicap.

2024 also saw the return of our Mellor Junior Open (incorporating the Justin Rose Championship) which we hope will continue to grow year on year.
