SNOWY DAYS AT MELLOR

Winter Update from Mellor Golf Club

The first week of January brought a blanket of snow to Mellor, closing the course for over a week. With temperatures plunging to -7°C, the snow stuck around, perfect for sledging but not much else. However, the cold weather didn’t slow us down, as plenty of work has been happening behind the scenes to keep the club in top shape.

Lynn, Sam, George, and the rest of the team have been hard at work preparing the clubhouse for its grand reopening on Saturday, January 18th.

The Greens Team have removed trees at the club’s entrance and levelled the area using a digger, giving it a clean and welcoming look.

The hedge leading up to the 1st Tee has been pruned, and they have hired machinery to finish clearing and digging ditches across the course. These are now free-flowing, ensuring better drainage.

All flags have been brought in, cleaned, and returned to the course in pristine condition.

After a long, cold week, the thaw has finally arrived! Thanks to some rain and milder temperatures, the snow has melted, and we’re thrilled to announce that the course is fully open again.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back and show off the hard work. See you out on the course!
