Gary Brown returned to where it all began for him as a junior at Mellor Golf Club, becoming our Professional in August 2022. He started his career at Stockport Golf Club, where he completed his apprenticeship and became a PGA Professional in 1990. After Stockport, Gary took his first position at Glossop and District Golf Club in 1990, honing his skills as a club professional.

In 1992, he had the chance to expand his experience in Germany at Golf Club Rickenach in the Black Forest, coaching German and Swiss clients. After two years in Germany, Gary returned to Glossop for another two years before moving to Buxton High Peak Golf Club, where he served as their club professional for 10 years.

In 2005, he shifted his focus to full-time coaching at Peak Practice Golf, Adlington Golf Centre, and Altrincham Golf Club. In 2019, he returned to Glossop before joining Mellor in 2022. Throughout his career, Gary has built a strong reputation as a skilled coach, player, and club professional in the Manchester area.

He is passionate about all aspects of his profession, whether it's competing in local or national tournaments, or helping individuals improve their swings on the range or in the studio. Gary brings extensive knowledge, experience, and professionalism to Mellor Golf Club, providing members with a top-notch experience on all levels.
